SCHOOLS IN THE VALE OF BELVOIR

This school is included in Belvoir Life as part of a new schools initiative aimed at giving new prospective parents as much information as possible about schools in the Vale of Belvoir.

We all know that decisions about schools are heavily influenced by word of mouth and so we implore you to leave a review on schools you know, so that others may hear your views more widely.

Kesteven and Grantham Girls School, or KGGS as it is known, is the Girls Grammar school in Grantham.

In September 2023 it was awarded an Outstanding report from Ofsted.

From the KGGS website:

Pupils, staff and governors from Kesteven and Grantham Girls’ School are celebrating after being graded ‘Outstanding’ in all areas, in their most recent Ofsted inspection that took place on the 19th and 20th September 2023.

During the inspection, inspectors judged the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management and the sixth-form provision to be outstanding, leading to an overall effectiveness judgement of Outstanding.

During their visit, inspectors met with leaders, staff, governors and trustees. They talked to pupils about their work and visited lessons, observed wider curricular activities, form time and assemblies. They also spoke to curriculum leaders and teachers and looked in depth at areas of the curriculum, including English, Science, Modern foreign languages, Geography and Art.

Throughout the inspection, inspectors noted the quality of education provided stating “Kesteven and Grantham Girls’ School provides an exceptional and broad education for all pupils. Pupils are happy and they thrive here.”

The inspection team were impressed with the pupils they saw commenting “In lessons, they display exemplary behaviour and eagerness to learn”

Support for learners with SEND is strong with inspectors stating “All pupils, including pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) achieve exceptionally well” 

Inspectors commented on the personal development curriculum stating The curriculum to support pupils’ personal development is exceptional. It helps pupils develop mature attitudes towards equality and diversity. They gain a deep understanding of British values and a range of faiths and cultures”. 

Whilst inspectors commented “Pupils learn how to take care of their physical and mental health. The school provides high-quality support for pupils’ well-being”.

The inspectors highlighted the impact that leaders at all levels across the school make The school is very well led and managed. There is a culture built around the highest of expectations set by trustees and staff that is supported by a commitment to continue to develop the school’s provision”

Headteacher, James Fuller, said “Our vision to Inspire, Challenge and Achieve’ focuses on a relentless drive to excel in all areas. We are thrilled with the report, it recognising the continued commitment that leads to excellent academic outcomes, while developing each pupil’s character as part of a supportive and caring community. I would like to thank all pupils, staff, parents/carers, trustees and governors for their ongoing hard work and support.
