The Garden House Hungerton
Photos of The Garden House Hungerton
The Garden House is Hungerton’s latest venture, and we are so pleased that we can now offer you a chance to come and see what makes this place so special.
Although The Garden House looks as though it is part of the main house, it was in fact built fairly recently by Francis LeMarchant, who was an artist. The stains of paint in the sink, the books left behind, and of course the wonderful light all day long, bear witness to the building’s previous life as an artist’s studio. Sadly, Francis died 7 years ago, but his legacy remains and you will find his paintings hanging on the walls. We believe he’d be delighted with how the space has been adapted, allowing us to share this beautiful pocket of rural idyll with others.
About The Garden House
Originally built to be an artist's studio, The Garden House is full of light and character. Paint splatters in the sink tell a charming story, and the 360 degrees of beautiful windows bring the outside in, and keep you feeling connected to the outdoors even when you're curled up on the sofa. The Garden House is an outstanding open-plan space furnished with a mixture of contemporary and traditional pieces. The double-height living area features a large table, bar area, two comfortable sofas and SmartTV. The bedroom is very cosy, with a working fireplace (wood and fire-lighters provided) and french doors out into the garden. The garden is private with outdoor seating and a firebowl. There are many wonderful plants and a view out over parkland. Wherever possible we provide guests with a welcome basket containing milk, butter, bread and eggs. Sheets and towels are provided, underfloor heating runs throughout, the bathroom has a generous shower and you will find the kitchen fully equipped with utensils, cutlery, crockery, microwave, oven and hob. You will notice that the products in the bathroom are eco friendly, and wherever possible we follow this ethos into our cleaning.
If you have friends nearby then feel free to host a dinner party, or if you prefer a quiet night in then you have access to Netflix and OnDemand streaming, as well as a bookshelf full of novels and non-fiction, and plenty of board games.
