Lily in the Vale, Stathern
The Lily of the Vale menu, November 2025

Stathern is a popular village for good reason. It is nestled on the edge of the Vale with good access to Melton Mowbray, Grantham and Bingham. It also has a good pub in The Lily of the Vale, now under new ownership with much investment.

New owner Edin, who already owns restaurants in Hockley and West Bridgford, has improved both interior and exterior of what used to be The Plough to create a warm and friendly atmosphere which is already proving popular with local visitors.

Choose between the bar, where there is a sofa right in front of the fire, or Lounge, set up for eating, the excellent menu is available wherever you prefer. Edin's specialities are sensibly priced and great to eat.

An enjoyable evening by the fire

November 30, 2025

We live in the village and had been to have a drink with Edin when he first bought the pub and had only just started renovating. We were keen to see the results so we met up with friends from Harby and we are very glad we did.

Edin has created a village pub atmosphere which has been lacking in Stathern since the Red Lion days. We didn't eat but the food looked excellent and that was also the feedback from other friends who were there.

We sat in the lounge in the corner beside the sofa which was very very close to the fire indeed. Some areas were well lit, others less so, but that's personal preference. Rounds for four of us ranged from £15 to £30, depending on nibbles etc.
