Vale of Belvoir villages: Stathern
Stathern is a popular village in the Vale of Belvoir with a long history dating back to before the English Civil War.
Stathern has a pub, village store, cafe and a beautiful church.
The War Memorial Institute provides the setting for local events and activities, and the beautiful 11th Century St. Guthlac’s Church provides regular services.
Within the Parish boundary, although about 1.5 miles from the village, is Dove Cottage Tearooms and Charity Shop raising money to support the Dove Cottage Day Hospice.
Although the village no longer has a post office, there are currently post office services available in the Plough Inn on a Monday 9 – 1,
The village has a local newsletter, The Stathern Star which is published every two months and can be collected from the Coffee Shot, Plough Inn or the village library (red telephone kiosk next to the bus stop).
The population of Stathern is estimated to be around 800 based on the census details from 2021.
